I got what some might call a late start waterfowl hunting. I began chasing fowl at 16 with my best friend. We started over almost a dozen old, beat up decoys, and had no idea how to call. We somehow managed to scratch a pair of gadwall, and have been obsessed ever since. We still hunt together 15 years later.

I grew up near Excelsior Springs, MO, and spent my time afield with my dad. We hunted quail, pheasants, and turkeys in the spring. Now I still hunt with him, as well as my oldest two sons(my youngest just turned one, and has a few more years to go!) and a small group of very close friends. I now run Snow Storm Outfitters, and am a full service guide for ducks, canadians and snows. With some of the best ground in mid Missouri at our fingertips we are working our way up the ladder.

I am a die hard fan of Zink calls. I am not a contest caller, and don't have any championship trophies, my judges are the ducks and geese. My stage is a layout boat, or blind. I enjoy going to contests, its just not for me. (Its a stage fright thing!)

I began hunting snow geese during the spring conservation order several years ago, and instantly got addicted to the HUGE tornadoes of white spiraling into the decoy spread. I hunt and guide as hard as possible, from September clear through April. When I'm not waterfowl hunting, I can usually be found on the Missouri River pursuing trophy blue and flathead catfish.

For me waterfowl hunting isn't about filling limits, or the total birds killed at the end of season. It s about the time spent with friends and family and the camaraderie shared by fellow duck hunters. For me the best part of it all is taking my kids out and passing the waterfowl traditions on to them.

Put em down...FEET UP!!!!
