Taylor M. Schaltenbrand
Freeburg, IL
My name is Taylor Schaltenbrand and I am from Freeburg, Illinois, located in Southern Illinois. I started hunting and fishing around age 7, and killed my first white tail buck when I was 12 years old with my Remington Model 870. I enjoy many types of hunting including deer, dove, turkey, small game, and especially waterfowl, as well as many types of fishing. I have been waterfowl hunting since around age 15, and have been addicted since day 1. I have experience hunting in all types of habitats, from dry fields, flooded bottoms, large lakes, and vast wetlands. I also have had experience hunting many different species of waterfowl from diving ducks, puddlers, and Giant Canada Geese. I spend as much time in the outdoors as possible and I hunt 75+ days out of the year in the Mississippi and Kaskaskia River bottoms and fields in Southern Illinois. I attended college at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and completed a degree in Geography with a minor in Environment Sciences.
Along with my passion for waterfowl hunting, I am also a strong advocate for waterfowl conservation and preservation. I am a volunteer with my local Monroe County Illinois Ducks Unlimited Chapter and I am proud to be doing my part to ensure that there will be plenty of waterfowl for future generation to come.
I am working with the Pro Staff for Fowl Play Game Calls and FowlNation.com. I enjoy taking others hunting and helping them learn how to become better hunters and further enjoy the sport of waterfowling.
