My father got me started hunting, when I was around 4 years old, I'd walk the mountains of Southwest Virginia with him hunting Ruffed grouse. When we moved to Northern Virginia I started hunting Quail and still have a love for the little critter's. I didn't get started in duck hunting until I was married and moved to Maine. There my brother-in-law got me hooked on hunting ducks. We would take his very unstable and sometimes leaky canoe and go jump shooting the streams and ponds, since neither of us had decoys at the time. I have some great memories of paddling around with him and his lab. I try and make it back to Maine every year to go Seaduck Hunting with him.

I have come a long way since then, I now have too many decoys to count and seem to be getting more and more. Even though I hunt geese ducks are still my real passion. The past couple of years I've gotten into Diver hunting and am really enjoying them. I hope to give hunting them from an open water layout boat a try this season.
